Designer Sunglasses

Designer sunglasses are a hot fashion item. All the Hollywood celebs wear them. The Olsen twins and Paris Hilton are wearing the latest designer sunglasses where ever they are spotted in Hollywood, night or day. If asked what they are wearing they might peer over their rims and drop names like Dior, Gucci, Armani, and Vera Wang.

Celebs like Britney Spears and Donald Trump have their own line of designer sunglasses. Other stars might wear Marc Jacobs sunglasses for that classy look or Baby Phat for style. Still others choose Fossil sunglasses for that cool 50s retro look.

Many clothing designers also have sunglass on the market to accessorize their own clothing labels. For example, the smart Tommy Hilfiger dresser can complete the ensemble with a pair of Tommy Hilfiger sunglasses. For a casual look, Kate Spade sunglasses are quite popular. Carrera is noted for a sporty look. Valentino frames with their rounded edges and Swarovsky crystals are suitable for the romantics.

Designer sunglasses are popular because they look hot and because they are a status symbol which shows the world that you can afford to buy them. Being fashionable does not mean you have to forego quality either. Designer sunglasses protect your eyes from UV rays and can be made in prescription form for reducing eyestrain and improving vision.

High quality designer sunglasses can also be polarized so that they reduce the glare from sunlight reflecting off of snow, water, or the highway. The polarized lenses work by blocking out horizontal light reflections and letting in vertical light reflections. Polarization of sunglasses makes them useful in lifestyle activities such as swimming, biking, boating, fishing and flying.

Marketers of designer sunglasses target children as well. Sunglasses for kids come in fun shapes and colors with cartoon and Disney characters upon them. Children's designer sunglasses can also be made to provide UV protection and kids should get used to wearing sunglasses while outdoors in order to safeguard their eyes from long term damaging effects from the sun.

A lot of times, people just grab a pair of sunglasses for the shading effect or to look cool, but they don't give much consideration to protecting their vision by shielding out harmful UV rays. Just remember that designer sunglasses are a hot fashion statement but if you choose wisely and get those that are polarized and offer a high degree of UV protection, you can look cool and save your eyes at the same time.

Everyone loves designer sunglasses, but not everyone can afford them. Or at least not everyone is willing to drop that much money on a pair of sunglasses. Then again, that is part of their appeal.
